Srimad Bhagavat Gita commentary chapter 10 verse 2

 Chapter 10 verse 2

Neither celestial gods nor the great sages know my origin. I am the source from which the gods and great seers come.”

Lord has indicated before that lesser gods such as celestial gods, gandharvas, kinnaras, even great sages are worshipped by people without realizing that such worship is suboptimal and that even this devotion flows to the supreme being anyways. In this verse, he further clarifies that all these celestial beings and great men originated from him and He existed much before them. Going straight to the source is the message in this verse. No great person in this earth in history has claimed otherwise. They have all pointed to the Supreme Being above them whether it is one of the saptha rishis or brahma or other celestial gods. Lord Krishna thus makes it clear and easy for all of us confused souls on who/what to pursue and bow to. Can we comprehend though who this Supreme Being is?
