Chapter 14 verse 6
“Amongst these, sattva guṇa, the mode of goodness, being purer than the others, is illuminating and full of well-being. O sinless one, it binds the soul by creating attachment for a sense of happiness and knowledge.”
Sattva
guna- purity or mode of goodness illuminates the soul and ensures the
well-being of the body, mind, intellect and ego. However this mode still binds
the individual soul by attachment to the material component of happiness and
knowledge. This attachment is better than attachment to lower components of
material nature.
