Chapter 14 verse 7
“O Arjuna, rajo guṇa is of the nature of passion. It arises from worldly desires and affections, and binds the soul through attachment to fruitive actions.”
The
primary root of passionate attachment to the fruits of action in the material
world is desires and attachments. These desires and attachment entraps the
jivatma in the material world of objects and beings. The way out of this is to
perform karma without expecting particular fruits of the action. In other words,
performing karma yoga is the stipulated path for those afflicted heavily by
rajo guna.
